A former Microsoft executive plans to literally roll out a national brand of marijuana for retail sale, telling a news conference in Seattle this week that ganja is a “giant market in search of a brand.” Shively wants 40 percent of the estimated $142 billion global marijuana market.

Critics say Shively is seeking profits off others’ addiction.
